Faces of India – 258 Tourist at Ishwara Temple, Arasikere
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
He is one of those people who love to get photographed, so perfect for my faces of India series. Neither of us knew each other but the simplicity with which asked to be photographed touched me beyond words. He knew very well he wouldn’t get a copy of the pic yet he happily smiled at the idea of getting photographed.
He seemed mighty impressed with the Canon EOS 7D Mark II DSLR camera I was holding. He wanted to know its cost. After hearing the cost he said you must be definitely getting good pictures with such an expensive camera. I nodded in agreement.
I asked for his name and now I am able to recollect only the surname he mentioned ‘Gowda’. His family has been living in this village for three generations. I met this tourist in Ishwara Temple, Arasikere, Karnataka.
He is full all by himself with what is with him by the side.. Total contentment!
These days even consumer cameras have become powerful. I have printed fine art images clicked with a 6 megapixel DSLR to 20×30 inch size for exhibition and sold as well. 🙂 Today 10 years later, DSLRs even have 50 MP resolution.
Happy face!!!
Happiness has no price:)
A much happy face 🙂
A good smiling face to shoot 🙂 Liked his innocence
What a beautiful expression. Another very fine portrait!
He seems to be radiating all the goodness in this world 🙂
Simple and content he seems..!
I like his expression, plus there’s that look that says he’s used to being photographed 🙂
Simplicity and genuinity in his expressions . Lovely capture ! Indrani..
It’s impossible to view this portrait without smiling in return. Very well done!
He definitely looks like someone with an interesting Character. Loved the tilak on his forehead.
Such an innocent contented expression. I wonder how many selfies he would have clicked of himself if given a good camera. …just like many of us…happy to pose 🙂
Simplicity thy name.
What a happy encounter you had with this subject for Faces of India. I love the tilt of his chin and the open, honest look he portrays. Thanks for sharing, Indrani. Greetings Jo
