Panjim Residency, Goa – a Hotel Review
My stay at Goa this time was in Panjim Residency, Panaji. It took less than an hour for the 30kms drive from airport. As I got off the car near the hotel the first thing I sighted was of River Mandovi! It is just across the road! The view from room is partially blocked with thick growth of coastal vegetation. Had it not been for the monsoons I would have got some glorious sunset light filtering into my room, such is the location!
Panjim Residency hotel has 45 rooms with a business center in the ground floor. The check-in was a quick affair.
Among the best things to say about Panjim Residency is that it is well located near several tourist destinations. Of course any tourist would give importance to this. Other tourist facilities like river cruise facilities and market area too are close by. This is one reason why Panjim Residency is rated high among the river facing budget hotels.
They have a restaurant whose facilities I availed during breakfast and evening tea. The breakfast is complimentary and the spread was not elaborate yet catered well to different tastes. One particular item that flattered my taste buds was that of Goa buns. These buns have such a unique sweet taste with a subtle flavor of banana. They are chewy, thick but soft and moist. Goa buns taste very good with hot tea.
The Room
There is a touch of simplicity the way they have done up the room. It is spacious for single occupation yet does not scream of luxury. Photographs hung around had local accents. A king-sized bed dominated the room with neat and cosy couple of single sofas by its side. These will serve well if guests spend the evenings and early mornings inside. I curled up in those sipping cups of hot steaming tea each of the mornings with planet-goa for company.
There is a tiny balcony too which I hardly used. But the clothes rack indicated guests can dry their clothing that they would have worn at the beaches. Quite thoughtful indeed! The bathrooms are decently done up; no frills provided just the basic toiletries. Little things that add to joy of living in hotels like lifts, cleanliness, room service, and general neatness deserve a ‘thumbs up’!
No Wifi. Probably they want guests to exit virtual world and plunge in to the real world of Goa. I am not complaining.
Panjim Residency Tariff
AC Room rates vary from Rs.2800 in off season to Rs.4700 in peak season. AC Deluxe rates vary from Rs.3300 in off season to Rs.5500 in peak season. They have cancellation charges. It will do good to have a look at the site while making books.

This is great! The residence looks like a comfortable place to stay at, and ai would surely wanna see that view of the river. I like that you’ve shared with us all the information you can. Maybe when I visit the country, I could experience this one for myself. 🙂
WiFi is definitely a big basic for me when i travel so staying in a hotel like that wouldnt be for me unless i want to spend time in nature resorts where all i want to do is soak up on earth and the sounds of wildlife
Quite informative. Are the Goan buns the same as Mangalore buns? I would still want wifi, atleast to show off the pics from the hippy city that Goa is ?
I don’t think I’d be able to stay in a hotel that has no wifi, I’m quite and internet addict. But the place looks great and comfortable. Great review
It looks like a nice place to spend the night. The room looks modern and who doesn’t love kind size beds? There seem also to be a lot of space in the room, which is great. The view is not that bad either.
If the hotel has WiFi i would definitely consider it. The place looks really clean and I think you need that in Goa. Would love to check it out more.
I believe your view is nice, and those tress are really luscious (in my opinion, I love tress!). And 30mins drive from the airport is not that bad… its a great opportunity to have site seeing along the way.
I think the view was quite nice and the room rather spacious! It looks like a good hotel to bookmark for a trip to Goa
It sounds like a nice hotel. The rooms looks okay. Spacious enough and clean. The Goa buns sound interesting. I’ve never had those ever before. I’m curious now! but wifi is for me really important when traveling abroad. I’m definitely always looking for hotels with wifi.
ANy hotel that is near almost everywhere you need to go is a perfect hotel! This is a great read. Very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
its an awesome hotel. Perfectly in place and also. Wonderful services. I have heard of it.
This looks like a very nice hotel. The Goa buns sound like they might be very good.
Looks like a perfect stay while in Goa. Thanks for the share 🙂
Seems like a beautiful hotel. Great review! 🙂
A decent stay and very central indeed.

Done now. Thank you for the suggestion.

Will keep this place in mind the next time I go to Goa. Which I hope is soon 😀
That’s a very useful information indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Nice, neat and comfortable accommodation is the foremost thing I would look forward to when out on a vacay. Panjim Residency qualify with a good score on this standard.
One click of River Mandovi from the Hotel rooms should be there. Good Day.
