Faces of India 240This picture was taken in Asansol district of West Bengal, somewhere in the route of transit between Barakar to Bankura. Coal is a major source of income for the locals there. I was curious to find out what the young well dressed boy was searching in those coal pieces.

The boy looks after his father’s shop dealing with purchase of coal in bulk and selling them off to locals for their everyday use. He was just sorting out the pieces. Not a roaring business according to him but they are managing to pull on. Captured this moment for my faces of India series.
