About Mitsui Shopping Park

Nestled 60 km from the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur and just 6 km from the bustling KLIA and klia2 airports, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA SEPANG (MOP) stands as a beacon of premium shopping experiences. Embracing the essence of a factory outlet concept, MOP beckons visitors with a treasure trove of upper-middle to high-end off-seasoned brands and products, all adorned with irresistible discounts.

However, MOP is not just a shopping destination; it’s a cultural immersion. Step into the enchanting world of Japan Avenue, a Japanese Specialty Store that transcends mere retail. Here, the essence of Japanese art, culture, music, and culinary delights intertwine, creating an immersive experience that captivates the senses. From traditional craftsmanship to modern innovation, Japan Avenue celebrates the rich tapestry of Japanese heritage, inviting visitors to explore, indulge, and be inspired.

Mitsui Outlet Park – An Architectural Delight

This is probably the first time I have a seen a mall designed to suit to moods of shoppers. A Japanese global architectural and design house, Nonscale, has very aesthetically designed this shopping mall.

The theme is that of Paradise Village featuring 4 distinctive concepts namely the Sunshine Square, Pier Walk, Tropical Plaza and Beach Walk. And each promotes an ambiance according to its name.

The Tropical Plaza and Beach Walk promotes a relaxing ambiance enriched with greenery, likened to a tropical beach escape. While the Pier Walk concept promotes chic, esplanade ambiance.

And for those customers who patronize the Sunshine Square will enjoy browsing through a luxury street concept sunlit by stylish skylight.

I’m not much of a shopper, whether at home or abroad on trips. I tend to prefer memories, though I am partial to tea towel souvenirs from cities or countries I visit. They’re very useful!

  • I have not heard of a Shopping Outlet with Flight Check-in counters, that’s pretty smart of them. I do tend to wait until the last minute to buy trinkets so this sounds very handy

  • This is definitely a very useful and thoughtful way of spending time than sitting at the airport. Glad to know that there is a shuttle service too that is provided for shoppers and travellers. I wonder if they allow travellers who are transiting to go out of the Kuala Lumpur airport though, Visa issues et al ?!

  • I have definitely run out of time to do shopping when we travel. And I really don’t like to do it last minute at the airport. The Mitsui Outlet Mall in Kuala Lumpur sounds like it would have something for everyone. And it looks like it was designed to encourage people to stay. Great that you can get a shuttle bus from the airport.

  • I’m not much of an outlet shopper but this looks nice and comfortable to get to with ambiance and clean amenities. How’s the food there?

  • Wow, flight check-in counters at the Outlet Mall. That would be so convenient together with the shuttles!!!

  • We took time to shop in KL because of the prices and it was the best idea we’ve had. Glad to see you’re promoting it as well. We didn’t go to the Mitsui outlet park though – we went to a massive seven story electronics mall. I’ve forgotten the name but it was an impressive sight.

    • I don’t usually do much shopping at malls but they are useful for getting things I’d forgotten to bring!! Having the flight checkin is really useful too!

  • Mitsui Outlet Park sounds like a great resource for that last minute shopping! I love the fact there are check-in machines in the mall, what a fabulous idea – to go straight from gift buying to printing boarding passes in one place!

  • I can’t belevee an outlet mall has airline check in desks. How fab is that? You mention it’s great for brand conscious shoppers. Is it all luxury brands or some Kate Spade, etc…?

  • This does seem like a good way to spend time when you are transiting. Not only does it seem like a place for good buys but is a place to admire as well. Just one question – do you need to get a Malaysian visa if you are just transiting through the city? That is if you want to go to this place.

  • I have heard some great things about the Mitsui Outlet Park and after reading your post I know why it is considered one of the best!

What a beautiful outlet! I definitely want to check it out whenever I visit.

  • Nothing beats a trip to an outlet mall! This one looks really nice too, great find!

  • Whoa! The mall looks good and not very crowded. I just don’t like a lot of crowds. This can be a great shopping destination.

  • I love the idea of there being flight check-in counters! How convenient! All shopping centres should be this helpful haha!

  • ooh such a brilliant mall concept for tourists I suppose! Im pretty sure I will check it out if I visit Malaysia

  • Malls in the United States seem designed to suck the soul out of everything. I love the way this one is designed! It might make me actually WANT to go shopping!

  • Does seem like a useful place for shopping. And by the price tags visible on the images, doesn’t look much expensive either.
    Thanks for sharing the guide!

  • That does look like a really great outlet. We don’t have that many malls like that state side anymore.

  • Loving the sound of the ambiance of this mall! Most malls are so bright that it makes you uncomfortable. Sounds like a great shopping destination!
