Durga Puja in Bangalore has grown into one of the city’s most anticipated cultural events, uniting people from diverse backgrounds in devotion and celebration. Having explored more than a dozen Durga Puja pandals across Bangalore in 2025, I’ve compiled this guide to the city’s top Durga Puja celebrations—each one unique in its theme, artistry, and spirit.
For Bengalis living in Bangalore who couldn’t make it to their hometowns in Kolkata or West Bengal, these puja pandals recreate a nostalgic slice of Bengal right here in the Garden City. From the rhythmic beats of the dhaak to the aroma of bhog khichuri, and from catching up with friends over adda to admiring dazzling festive attire and jewellery—the city comes alive with vibrant energy and shared emotion.

Top Durga Puja Pandals of Bangalore 2025
As Bangalore has expanded over the years, commuting between neighbourhoods has become challenging, yet the urge to gather at nearby puja venues remains irresistible. Fortunately, the growing number of Durga Puja pandals in Bangalore now allows residents of each locality to celebrate closer to home while still feeling part of a larger community.
What makes Bangalore’s Durga Puja truly special is its cultural inclusivity and creative innovation. Many organisers bring in skilled artisans from Kumartuli, Kolkata, to craft the idols using soft clay, hand-painted features, and traditional silk attire.
Some pujas follow rituals inspired by Belur Math, ensuring the sanctity of anjali timings and other customs. The spirited Dhunuchi Naach on Ashtami night adds a traditional touch—though being two-left-footed, I prefer to stay behind the lens capturing those graceful moves!
Each puja committee goes the extra mile to host live performances and celebrity shows by artists from Kolkata, making the celebrations more memorable every year. Whether you live in Indiranagar, Whitefield, Koramangala, or Hebbal, these top Durga Puja pandals in Bangalore 2025 are well worth the drive to experience the city’s festive fervour and community spirit.

Typically, Durga idols are shown with multiple arms holding weapons, symbolizing divine strength and protection, often accompanied by her lion vahana. However, this pandal highlights Brahmacharini, one of the nine avatars of Durga, who embodies discipline, devotion, and asceticism. The artistry is mesmerizing — every deity’s vahana (vehicle) is crafted with intricate detail, reflecting the committee’s dedication to spiritual aesthetics and craftsmanship.
