Senior Couple Sitting on Park Bench in Lal Bagh Bangalore
This post is for Thursday Photo Challenge: BENCH.
I saw this couple in their sunset years of life deeply immersed in talking in a colorful park bench in Lal Bagh, Bangalore. Such colorful armrests! They were bright yellow ferocious lions.
The arms of the bench looked so menacing but the couple sitting on it seemed sober. They may be discussing their problems, or may be their happiness. Whatever! I hope they found peace!
A couple of park bench quotes to go with the photographs.
Truly, the bench is a boon to idlers.
Whoever first came up with the idea is a genius: free public resting places
where you can take time out from the bustle and brouhaha of the city,
and simply sit and watch and reflect.

After seeing the flower show while exiting Lal Bagh I saw the bench occupied by another set of senior people. Arms of the bench continued to look at me menacingly.
The elderly people must have thought of spending time watching people around, but they didn’t know they would end up getting watched.
My favourite pastime used to be sitting on a park bench watching people.
But after ‘Jagged Little Pill,’ the eyeballs turned, and I was the watched one.

I have seen this bench in Lalbagh so many times… but your photpgraphy is what made me take real notice of the fact that it was so colorful and a photographer's delight.
What a beautiful and colourful bench!
The royal feel of her majesty…on these benches…magnificent indeed..
& they are protected by two Royal Lion Guards. 🙂
Park benches can be relaxing and rejuvenating ! Gives you solitude and privacy amidst quiet ambiance. To rest review remember rejoice reminisce !
great one ..
Symbolizing a retired, peaceful life…
Great observation skills, Indrani and equally wonderful captures.
A wonderful post 🙂
Fantastic capture…wow! such colorful benches! 🙂
You come up with beautiful perspectives about things which normally we ignore. I admire that. Nice bench out there and now it feels like a must visit monument.
The first couple seems to be deliberating, while the gentleman in the 2nd pic seems to be totally disinterested in the ladies talk. Carries an 'Oh what crap!' expression on his face.
What a cheerful and lovely bench!
Ha ha Suman… I know that… done that a few times myself.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. 🙂
Thank you friends for the comments.
Sitting in a bench can be a very creative experience.
Imagine three young friends, fresh out of university sitting on a low wall (quite similar to a bench) in Nehru Place, Delhi at 5 PM in the afternoon when the offices break.
Looking a any particular person walking across the courtyard towards them and trying to guess that person's emotions and convincing others with logic why he thinks so ….
The others can accept or challenge with their reasoning…
That’s pretty colorful bench and I have seen it too while I visit the garden but I guess it was plain yellow then. I love benches and watching people is something simply amusing.
Nice captures!

I have noticed this thing so many times, that whenever I see an old couple spending time together.. I feel good, I feel satisfaction and automatically my face turns smiling.
Nice post!
These benches are colorful. Even I have pictures clicked of them with VT and my papa sitting 🙂
And those couples – yes, hope they found peace.
The benches are seriously magnificent and amusing at the same time. The lions look on guard!
