Road Trip To Candolim Goa from Bangalore
We are doing a road trip to Candolim Goa in car, a distance of 556km from Bangalore. Plan is to celebrate Diwali in Goa away from home for a change! Google has timed this distance as 9hrs and we are hoping not to exceed this. This will be the first time we will be doing such a long stretch in one go, may be halt for some time to catch a bite.
The road conditions are good for more than 95% of the distance we are told and hoping the rains in the past few weeks hasn’t damaged the roads much.We started quite early to avoid the traffic in Bangalore city. The entire stretch of road, entire 556km is dotted with 9 toll gates. Toll tickets cost aggregated to Rs500 approx. I wish they would make the places around toll gate a little interesting. There are no eateries and most important of all there are no toilets for women. We stopped at several fuel stations to find a good washroom.
We had breakfast in Tumkur and lunch in Dharwad and checked into Jesant Holiday Homes in Candolim by 4 in the evening. For return trip too we took the same route. We deliberately avoided the road trip during night. We were not sure if we would find repair shops at night. What if we had a flat tyre. The thought of halting and changing in the middle of nowhere was not too comfortable.
Konkan coast is such a beautiful route anyway.
Yes Sudhir enjoyed, a detailed post will be put up soon.
