Faces of India – 141 Resident of Asansol West Bengal
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
He looked so much like R K Laxman’s Common Man to me; I paused at his shop on the pretext of asking directions. He showed lot of interest in my camera, my purpose of visit and from where I came. Believe me he did smile to me. He looks slightly lost in this picture though. The shot was taken in Asansol, West Bengal.
He sure looks like the typical common man, my grand dad looks a lot like him. Nice click once again.
serene looking!
A world-weary look I'd say, kind of, I have seen everything that there is to see and I'm not impressed 🙂
What a suspicious look..indeed nice click!!
Sometimes we do wanna get in touch with some people, Indrani 🙂 Common man indeed.
Lovely click dear…
you know what ! you can really catch what I call the mystery, in peoples eyes!
He resembles a lot of common men from villages of India
Another great capture…
nice series Indrani
Hard lines on face, hard life.Wrinkles, bitter experiences.Lost in thoughts, could not think he would be a subject of a blog post.
Very nice capture
You captured so much more than his face. The photo tugs me into the presence of this stranger and I ask questions and answer them with my own imaginings.
This is another wonderful portrait. He looks lost in thought.
another great one from you Indrani.. :)… the Aam aadmi..aka..mango people <3
Really enjoy your series.
Wonderful portrait! Thanks for the note on him 🙂
Wish you a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas.
That was the first thing that came in my head too.. he looks like the common man from RX Laxman ! Nice capture.
excellent capture!
He looks like he's wondering what you'll do with this photo. 😉
yes, he appears puzzled, but glad he was nice.
A wonderful portrait photo!
A very expressive face. Well captured
A look of a studious man.
i enjoy this series a lot Indrani. Now whenever i come across some interesting face / scene i would immediately think of u 🙂
Nice capture.
Amazingly inquiring look, Indrani. Good shot! Greetings, Jo
Brilliant capture…there's a lot his face says!
This is a great project. I look forward to more portraits. I have the same idea for Oakland but am reluctant to ask people permission to take their pictures.
A perfect example of the Aam Aadmi who is very much in the news these days receiving so much of accolades and awards !
A fascinating face. And such sharp, crisp detail.
Another great face!! I've said it before, but I do SO enjoy this series and the variety of people that you photograph and interview!! Thank you again, Indrani!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!!
