Place for Authentic Thai Food in Bangalore
After a long time Thai food! Thai dishes have awesome taste with a good combination of Indian and Chinese cuisine styles. I go bonkers over their stir fries with Indian masalas. The recent experience at Thai food at White Elephant, a newly opened restaurant in Indiranagar, Bangalore was relished well. And here is a short picture story on my experience there. As soon as I entered I was mesmerized by the sight of huge white idol of seated Buddha. It had a good calming effect on my tired nerves. The ambiance is very positive. The lighting fixtures are unique; I have posted a couple of them, and I am sure they have been selected by somebody who has good taste for interior decoration. The tables are spaced well with no crowding and good space for movement.
The menu has lots to offer, the beverage section itself ran into 2 long pages. I settled for a new mocktail ‘Heart Breaker’! Contrary to the name it jingled my heart with pleasure. I am planning to have the ’Cozy Corner’ next time I am there. There was good range of starters. For the vegetarians too there is ample choice.Â
I have shared a couple of pictures of the starters I had. Khao Pod Thod Naam Prik Pow – Thai name of Baby corn tossed with Thai chilli paste in Rice Tartlets. For non vegetarians I will suggest Kai Hor Bai Taey (Rs.395/-) – a delicately marinated chicken wrapped in Pandana leaves. The light flavor of the leaves enhanced its taste. Soups are reasonably priced. The greens tossed on flame for right span of time were perfectly cooked and tasted good. The main dishes seasoned well, garnished and aesthetically presented and tasted authentic. The greedy me wished for more pieces of fish in Kaeng Keow Whan (Rs.515/-) (Thai traditional green curry with fish) than what was served.Â

Weekend visitors to the restaurant are treated to magic show by Rakesh Syam an international famed close up magician from US. We bloggers were treated to his show and after every act he left us stunned and numbed with wonder that we almost forgot to clap. That will a good experience for the weekend visitors there. In the end of course we presented with a good range of deserts, my fav jack fruit ice cream is shared here.

Looks Like you have hit on a good Thai Joint. It reminds me that I have not have Thai food since long. Have to look for a good Thai joint at Kolkata.
Since Thai food is often hot I guess the ice cream is a welcome relief. 🙂 Only kidding, as I'm sure the food was delicious!
