Faces of India – 29 Furniture Maker at a Roadside Shop
A furniture maker by profession, he has a small makeshift roadside shop. Just about seventeen years or so, I asked him if he was attending any college. He gave a short laugh in reply, “where akka (elder sister) and how? My father tried sending me to school but I gave up after my 7th grade. I am happy doing this and helping him make the cane furniture.”
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Very expressive. I like your portrait series, Indrani.
Nice portrait
that intense eyes !!!!!!!!!
He looks like a nice young man. Beautiful eyes.
Interesting face. I wonder from which region he comes, because my Indian friend (an ex collegue) has a completely other type of face features.
Excellent portrait, I like it.
Lovely photo, very nice series.
