Faces of India – 281 Spice Plantation Guide from Goa
Meet this spice plantation guide today. If you have been following my blog for sometime now you would have guessed it right – she is from Goa. It was drizzling non stop during our tour of Tropical Spice Plantation.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Undeterred, with umbrella in hand, this young lady guided us through the spice plantation. She went on with her explanation of all spice plants arousing our interest and curiosity in these plants. Furthermore could easily explain the medicinal properties of several of the spices there.
I was amazed at her knowledge. She said ‘she was trained and taught about these spices, their origin and their different qualities.’ This young lady even gave figures about the sales made from such spice plantations.
In this picture she is seen explaining the uses of dry palm leaves. She sure has done the course with interest, completed it successfully and demonstrated her knowledge impressively!!
Rarely do we come across such dedicated people! Isn’t she a good choice for my faces of India series?
It’s a proud moment to watch women who show the mettle to carry out the so called men’s job
Fascinating sharing of your experience with a marvellous picture. Your adventure of looking for different faces of India itself is exemplary. You must be finding every one of them as interesting because as it’s been said that every man in a thousand is a bore and he is interesting because he is one in a thousand.
