Faces of India – 184 from Chettinad Mansion
Faces of India from Chettinad Tamil Nadu
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
One of the residents of Karaikudi mansion in Chettinad, he showed us around the huge mansion. Times have changed and survival along with maintenance of the huge mansion with not enough grants from the government is becoming difficult – he said. He sounded very worried.
Expressions on his face are very well captured grouses he has towards the non committal of the govt, for the maintenance of the said mansion.
The heart goes out to such people who struggle in so many ways!
His eyes are reflecting his sadness… 🙁
Brilliant capture, Indrani. This is a great series.
good capture. i felt the frame is a bit too tight. but anyways; that is your perspective. Good capture.
What an expressive face and you captured it so well!

Sad, VERY sad.
Another wonderful portrait Indrani and I do hope something good will happen so that he won't have to worry.
Loving but thoughtful the face portrait. Love him.
His face expresses the regret! Great portrait
Most all of your portraits are such soulful faces.
That's such a classic portrait. I love your faces of India, Indrani. I have all my photos for Faces of Africa ready, but need to get them onto posts. Have a wonderful Sunday. Greetings Jo
He sure looks concerned. Most owners dont live in these beautiful mansiobs anymore thereby causing the concern.
His eyes are so deep and painful… Want to listen to him about his life, he seems to have lot of things to share!
Wonderful photography Indrani.
TC! Keep smiling 🙂
that sort of stress is worldwide, i'm afraid.
