Faces of India – 164 Tourist in Madurai
The picture was taken in the hotel lawns of Madurai. A young group of students studying catering or hotel management, in their late teens were taking pictures. They had come to tour the Taj Hotel, one of them told me.
They had just one sunglasses and each one was putting it on and taking pictures in various poses. I found it interesting observing them from far. Looks do matter in this age group, I thought.
This young boy agreed to give me a pose.
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
That's an interesting observation that they each wanted to wear the sunglasses in their photos. 😉
He looks similar to my cousin Aravind!!
this reminded me my friend came from usa with a pair of raybans.. and we had to take pics with that 🙂

Looks are so important for young people. He looks very cool.
Fantastic series..I love it
Interesting that they all had to cover their eyes with the sunglasses.
Looks definitely matter in that age group so does taking numerous photographs in very imaginable pose.
Great shot, Indrani.
Madurai is my home town and this pic brought back a lot of memories for me. Thankyou Indrani. Surely looks do matter.
