Faces of India – 148 This Child’s First Picture by Me
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
“Nobody has taken my photo before”, he said after he saw himself in the LCD panel of my camera. I remember the happiness on his face then after the picture was taken. I tried to get into a conversation with him but he said he had to rush home as his mother was waiting for the can of kerosene he purchased. The shot was taken at a fueling point on our way to Sundarbans from Kolkata.

That Smile hides sadness… Made me a bit sad…Terrific capture Indrani..
Innocence is the best expression
Quite an expressive face.
Beautiful capture.
Wonderful portrait …and his smile is so captivating…is he sad, or is he happy. A mysterious smile.
Another awesome portrait!
Beautiful portrait on the lookalike next door boy! Glad he was happy with your pic 🙂
What a different world. Here in Seattle in the US every baby and child has thousands of photos taken of him or her. A magnificent portrait. I love this child instantly.
Wonderful photograph of the boy. I'm glad he got to see himself on the LCD panel.
What a cute young man!
Sad melancholy face reflecting a hard tough life !
A sweet young boy, and a great portrait .
Even if he'd had his photo taken umpteen times before, this one would outshine them all. 🙂
Handsome boy. So many people asked me to take their photo, which I happily did. They were so pleased to see themselves.
What a lovely face he's got, but carrying a can of kerosene??
What a photography! He is lucky to be captured by you 🙂
It is a wonderful face and portrait but a sad statement. We take photographing our kids for granted. Hard to imagine a boy with no photos.
Beautiful. Hope he gets to have more photos of him taken in his later years.
That is an amazing capture. Words cannot describe the depth in this photo! really.
Beautiful capture. The smile is so genuine 🙂
Wonderful. When I take pictures like these, I try ways and means to send them a copy of it. All don't have access to the net, so I take a print and hand it over (if I find them at the same place, like a shop keeper or a cobbler)
bless him. what a wonderful face he has.
What a wonderful, dear face!! A terrific capture for the day as always, Indrani! I do love this one!! Wishing you a great weekend! Enjoy!!
