Faces of India – 139 Lady with Nose Ring Kufri
I was fascinated by her nose ring but she wouldn’t pose for me till I shelled out some money. Finally, for 10 rupees she gave me her million dollar smile!
She didn’t phook (smoke a cigarette) for a long time, she said so as she thanked and took the money from me. The picture was taken in Kufri, Himachal Pradesh.
See yet another nose ring design worn by a tribal woman of Chhattisgarh – Faces of India 314
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
[ Smiles ] Beautiful and unique.
That nose-ring is one of a kind; it looks as though it was made by a highly skilled goldsmith.
Very unusual nose ring, she surely has a million dollar smile maybe if she was educated she would have been a good business woman ……
the nose rings are really amazing but imagine extorting money to be photographed.
Nice one
Yes, that nose rings are really interesting and for 10 rupees, you scored with that smile 🙂

Simple, innocent and honest that is the typical of Garwali-Himachali persons and this is a real good snap

Great Portrait.
She has a great smile.
Beautiful portrait! You'd think the nose ring would be very impractical and perhaps uncomfortable too.
It looks uncomfortable to wear but she looks thrilled to be smiling for you! The 10 rs resulted in a million dollar smile.
