Faces of India – 104 Farmer from Melukote
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. She is a farmer’s wife. She helps her husband in his work, I saw her winnowing the grains. She stopped her work to pose for me. At this age also she is working so hard.
It was a little awkward for me and found it hard to ask her anything. I muttered several words of thanks to her for the picture.
This was in a village in Melukote, Karnataka. Picture straight from camera, no editing done.
Very nice portrait! 🙂

Great capture of mother of India.
I like the way she has wrapped her sari around her neck
There can't be an example for hard work if not farmers! Beautiful capture
This is a marvelous portrait of the woman with the weather-beaten face. She's beautiful.

beautiful weathered face. 🙂
She has a beautifully serene and dignified face.
What a wonderful face! I think there are probably many stories behind those eyes and the wrinkles. Great capture as always, Indrani. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
