Faces of India – 103 Musician Performing with Harmonium
A musician with his harmonium. Notice his embroidered kurta (shirt).
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Nice picture for The Thieme. From Spain regards.
Jama, it is mentioned in the post. It is a harmonium.
What instrument is he playing? I've seen it in movies but have no idea what is it's name.
Its fun to hear these. They have such a typical folksy tempo

He looks like a Qawwal. I did notice the Rs100 baksheesh too.
A fancy shirt and a miniature organ. I wonder who you will encounter next.
I am loving your 'faces of India' series!
This is a very handsome young man. I really like his shirt.
Nice shot! 🙂

Another fine capture. You come upon the most interesting people.
Terrific, intriguing capture as always, Indrani. I really like the shirt! Beautiful! I always enjoy seeing musicians as my oldest son is a musician — in additions to his full time job at a university in Texas. Have a lovely weekend!
Nice post.
