Faces of India – 333, Tribal Woman from Dantewada Chhattisgarh
We spotted each other almost the same time. She, a tribal woman of Dantewada, fascinated by my camera and I by her jewelry. This was in Nakulnar village of Dantewada during their weekly fair.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
I was drawn towards the jewelry of the locals of Dantewada, which has 173,714 tribal people, they do live in the interiors. I noticed the women wore similar kind of nose pins. Many women wore in both their nostril while some wore just one.
Since it was a market day she wore the long ear rings. On a regular basis she wears smaller ones she said.
This lady was willing to be photographed and if you observe the vertical frame her necklace is interesting too. But the way she had covered herself up I couldn’t ask her to show a bit of that. Anyways I was thankful to her for posing for my camera.
Interesting portrait and face at shoot!
What a beautiful portrait shot, her eyes narrate a story 🙂
Gorgeousness in her jewelry!
Its amazing how being photographed is so special for them! Reminded me of my childhood days…
Lovely portraiture 🙂
Nice post and portrait.
Loved your blog new look.
Greetings.
