Faces of India – 332, Temple Guide from Keladi Karnataka
She may not be a temple employed temple guide in Rameswara Temple of Keladi but she played the role of one so well. I met her in Rameswara Temple, Keladi in north Karnataka. For some reason her husband , who is the employed temple guide and caretaker of the temple was not available in temple premises.
Seeing our interest in temple architecture and temple photography she came out to guide us. And tell more details of the temple. She was wearing a simple gown. In her homely attire she took us around this temple explaining several details.
Do seek her out if you are ever there. She has loads of info on the temple. The quaint temple town of Keladi is located about 8km away from the town of Sagar in the Shimoga district of Karnataka.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
She looks so humble with her sweet smile. Beautifully captured!
Beautiful portrait
