Faces of India – 325, Vendor from Shimoga, Karnataka
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
He is one of the most cheerful vendors I have met during my travels. I met him in Shimoga. He is doing well in his business too; his mini tempo van is an indicator of that.
Usually we get to see hand cart pushing vendors. His wares consisted of ceramic dolls and handmade candles. He has a small manufacturing unit managed by his family members in Chennai. They create these art pieces and he brings them all the way from Chennai to Shimoga. He drives to another city when his sale dips in one city.
His candles sell the most he said and of course I bought them.
Charming salesman!
Love to read about him !! Shimoga is the place which is popular as Mr Yediyurappa is from there , something else which makes it popular ?
