Faces of India – 314 Tribal Woman from Dantewada, Chhattisgarh
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
She is a tribal from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. I met her at the Sunday Market of Nakulnar village of Dantewada where she was selling bangles and other trinkets. Notice that beaded chain in her neck, I liked it instantly. I wanted the same design; she seemed pleased that I liked her choice. I bought 4 long strands of them. Those nose rings are common among the women there. Some wear only one, but 2 too looks good I felt.
I have seen women wearing 2 nose rings in rural side. Nice portrait
Beautiful portrait. #FacesofIndia
