Faces of India – 302 Boy spreading Pigeon Feed
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
I met this boy spreading pigeon feed in Bikaner in front of Laxminath Temple. The boy was busy feeding pigeons. I saw him empty a sack of grains for the pigeons, it must be at least 5kgs. He was enjoying doing the work in a systematic way dragging the half open sack in a zig zag path.
Later I caught up with the boy and he pleasantly kept answering my curiosity. He does this everyday and has never found it boring. He comes at the same time everyday. His school being nearby, he quickly comes finishes this activity and returns to school. He is a sixth grader.
Felt very pleased to see such a young social worker, nature lover school student before. May his tribe flourish. The pigeons seemed to wait for their daily grub crowding around his feet.
