Faces of India – 17 Idol Maker from Kumartuli
Sure, not sure of giving a smile. An idol maker by profession. He has all the way from Kumartuli in Kolkata to Bangalore to make idols of Goddess Durga for the Durga Puja celebrations here. They complete the work here quickly so that they can go back in time to celebrate the festival with their families.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Very nice photo. Great shot.
Great series, an interesting portrait!

A great capture–his eyes are open to smiling but his posture holds him back. Touching and lovely…
thanks for sharing!
I also love this series. I had never thought about it but I guess that somebody has to make idols.
I love the unsure look on his face. But his eyes are bright!
