Faces of India – 14 Participant in Walking Race
Elderly gentleman. He was participating in walking race for the senior citizen category held in our apartment complex. He was keeping a constant eye on his competitors, should they get ahead of him.
“Hey you are running!’
“Hey running is cheating!”
“Walk, walk, this is walking race!‘
“Referee please note. Runners should be disqualified!”
… and so it went on till the race was over.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…

Love it. The smile in his face–the peace–suggests youthfulness.
Very common yet intriguing. 🙂

nice photo
oh I think this is an wonderful idea to portray the faces of your country. I'm wondering if you're shy about photographing people, as I'm not as bold as I would like to be with that sort of thing. this one is a great capture.
Your shots of the people of India are excellent! I have been to India twice, and I have seen these people on the streets, in the market, and by the temples…very nice!
Very natural picture. Nice shot.
When time permits visit my new post-
