Chilis American Grill and Bar at Indiranagar Bangalore
Walking into Chilis American Grill and Bar at Indiranagar Bangalore, the first thing that strikes you is the seating space. Chairs and tables lined up inside, outside, first floor, ground level, lots of them! Very good utilization of the ‘not so big’ place! Everything around had a stamp of chili – the chairs, the salt& pepper and menu card holder, even the door handle.
Chilis American Grill and Bar at Indiranagar Bangalore is a casual dining restaurant. Chilis chain has restaurants in many countries. It is popular for its American food influenced by Tex-Mex style cuisine. With three joints in Bangalore, all functioning along the same lines as the original one, Bangloreans are now able to relish this brand of American food.
The range of cocktails and mocktails that they have is wide and it can take some time before you can zoom in to one of them, unless you have some specific choice. I tried the minty mango drink, loved having it in this off season for mangoes, and relished it till the last drop.
The bar is in the first floor, quite spacious and well lit because of the huge glass panes. One can look over to the busy 100ft. road. Huge TV screens here keep the customers hooked to the games and shows.
For starters we had cheese poppers, chicken crispers, boneless chicken wings and pannier quesadilla. Each of these fried to right crispiness, crunchiness and to that perfect brown color. The fries were dipped and generously wrapped with the variety of dips that came along. I could have easily gone for one more round of those fries but then had to save the appetite for the rest of my lunch.
Smoked Salmon Salad: the presentation was good. It came in their typical frozen glass along with a basket of crispy warm toastada chips. The ingredients that went into the salad were diced smoked salmon and avocado, fresh cilantro, feta cheese, pickled red onion slaw mixed in honey lime vinaigrette. This tasted very good, one of the best fish salads I have ever had.
There was a wide range of burgers to choose from, yet I opted for pasta. The first obvious reason was my weakness for pasta and then I wished to see and taste how this American chain dished out their pastas.
I definitely don’t regret about the choice I made, Spicy Smoked Shrimp Pasta. It was a huge platter with quantity good for two. The dish had shrimps in pasta lavishly mixed with spicy Alfredo sauce, corn succotash, topped with Jack cheese and panko breadcrumbs. The final garnish was done with citrus chilli sauce and fresh cilantro.
Southern Peach Bread Pudding. This dessert disappeared at a much faster rate compared to the time it took make its delicious appearance. Bless the chef who designed this dessert!
Everything about this place was good, yet I will add a word of caution. While placing your order do it with caution because the portions are huge. They are very generous in their servings.

Interesting theme and dishes
Oh! I'm feeling hungry now… !
I can't believe Chili's has come to India! It actually saddens me that this aspect of American culture is being exported. Here in the U.S., Chili's is considered a bland, watered down version of Mexican food and yes, the portions are huge, which is why Americans struggle with weight. I'm thinking that the seasoning has probably been adjusted for the Indian palate and is probably better than the American version's. I hope you will have the chance to sample real Mexican food soon if you haven't before, so you can compare!
Pretty and detailed. I have visited in Hyderabad too.
Beautiful picture of the interior. Food also looks delicious. I am hungry.
We have these where I live too, but I must admit that I'm not a fan of these American "casual dining" chains. I'd much rather find a small family-run restaurant, that's where the best food often is.
Yummy foods & lovely pics. Well done, Indrani 🙂
