Brown Bear Antics With Tree Trunk in Kufri Zoo
If you are visiting Kufri with children, the mini Kufri zoo there is an ideal place to visit. From Anala Outdoors, the resort where we were staying, the zoo was hardly a kilometer. Zoo, of course is a place where you will see many animals and it may seem nothing very memorable, but this trip was made memorable for me by a cute little bear!
The brown bear in Kufri zoo was in a playful mood with a tree trunk. His antics went on for more than 5 minutes and that gave us a golden opportunity to click several pictures. Again it was one of those moments when I had to tear myself away from the scene and watch it through the eye hole of camera. You miss a lot that way. The simple pleasure of watching it live is lot more than the watching the captured frames at home.
Bears are often picturised with tree trunks. Seeing this fellow’s antics the figurines, paintings and drawings made sense why they are shown thus.
Kufri Zoo is a must include in your itinerary of Shimla travel, especially if you are traveling with kids.

I envy your good luck. These animals i saw during my exploration work on Himalayas. But they are too shy. As a matter of principle I do not visit Zoo.

Thanks a lot, Indrani, for your comment under my current post. I've never been to India, but the company I work for has a subsidiary in your home city Bangalore. So regularly (?) – at least from time to time (!) I'm in contact with my colleagues from India. And in July I will welcome six of them for a training in technology at Europe – I'll pick them up at Italy and later we continue the trip in Germany.
Have a great day, Uwe.
The babies of a species are always so cute, aren't they – though I imagine hippo mothers are the ones who find their offspring the most endearing.
These are great pictures of the cub with his tree trunk. Thanks for sharing.
Great shots! I love to watch animals in their native habitats and sometimes in zoos. This bear was certainly in a playful mood.
