Faces of India – 157 Tourist in Chandigarh Rock Garden
Have you met co tourists who like to get into conversations? I met one such person, a tourist in Chandigarh Rock Garden. A localite of Chandigarh, he was visiting the Rock Gardens, the day I was there.
While I was trying to get into conversation with another tourist there for a photograph, this young guy requested me to take his photograph too. He stood in style, hands in pockets, a slight tilt in head, a faint smile; it is he who chose this backdrop for himself. I very happily didn’t let the opportunity slip.
I showed his pic in the LCD display and told him, “I will not be able to share the copy with you.”
He said, “Koi nahin, aap dekh lena kabhi kabhi (It’s ok you see my picture once in a while).”
Dangerous guy, I thought. “I will put it in my blog” I said ignoring his comment.
“Woh kya hota hai (what is that)?” he asked. It was now obvious he wanted to enter into a conversation.
“Computer mein daloongi (I will put in computer)” I said.
“Woh bhi sahi hai (that is also ok),” he replied. I moved on with a polite wave.
Faces of India,
Faces of India is a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Thank you very much for the comments friends!
Hi Arabesque, he doesn't know I have a blog and that I do this series.
does he know you have a blog Indrani?
nice foto! ^0^
Asking for a pic to be clicked shows that he knew you are an experienced hand and good at your job. End result, he is online, you get a good pic and we all get to see it and enjoy it. 😀
Smart capture and so good of you to put the pictures of the faces of India, the AAM AADMI:)
He knows he is good looking, that expression says it all. Good capture
Amazing that he requested that you take his photo! :))
Good you got a volunteer for your series – Faces of India 🙂 Nice capture…. is that the artificial waterfall in rock garden ?
Yet to visit Rock Gardens, Indrani!
Nice pic. The guy didn't ask you to share the pic with him?
He is indeed handsome and another example of how your people really love to be photographed. Beautiful waterfall, too!
Loved it! I wish we manage to bump in somewhere so that I can get my picture clicked from you 🙂
those request a common thing .. but a very nice pic 🙂
Great as always. You should think of a photo exhibition. Your archive is so well populated.
Hi Ratna, I am not traveling now. These pictures are from my archives. 🙂 Thank you so much for the offer of help. 🙂
Thanks friends for the comments. 🙂
Great portrait and a beautiful setting.
This is one good thing with our country, people do not mind being photographed .. infact they like it 🙂
Very nice pic! Are you in Chandigarh just now? Hope you did not miss the walk aside the lake here! Its an ideal place for a walk. If you are heading towards Himachal I can suggest you some lesser known places with abundant natural beauty.
I can just smile at the guy. No doubt he is looking great in the pic. A common Indian character he is. 🙂
I'm glad you didn't let this opportunity slip past you. This is a wonderful portrait.
It's a very calculated pose but I like what it reveals about the connection between nature and humans.
And he volunteered for it!! Lovely picture.
handsome fellow and beautiful backdrop, too.
A splendid photo Indrani. The waterfall makes a wonderful background for this young man.
