Faces of India – 121, Barakar, West Bengal
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Ready to take flight! A young boy flying paper planes, the picture taken in Barakar, West Bengal.
I saw some absolutely fearless children within the temple complex of Barakar. They were climbing on the facade of Begunia Temples and flying paper planes. It was a competition whose would fly the farthest. Not a single adult around to monitor them or caution them. Seemed it is a daily activity for them. But then this is not a park. And what if they fall and hurt themselves – that was my biggest concern then. I tried talking but they ignored me.
What a sweet and spontaneous expression, a very fine portrait!
