Faces of India – 335, Dance Troupe from Rajasthan
I don’t know why or how I end up capturing more Rajasthani women in my lens. I find myself more attracted towards them. Anyways… here is one more face from Rajasthan. She belongs to a dance troupe from Rajasthan giving performances in Chitrakala Parishath of Bangalore. They are a group of skilled dancers and musicians. I and several others stood mesmerized watching her perform to the beats of Rajasthani folk music.
Faces of India
a series through which I intend to portray the various characters of my country whom I met during my travels. I bring back souvenirs, frozen moments from my travels, why not some memories of people I have met and interacted during the travels. Faces of India is a weekly series in my blog since MARCH 2011. See more here…
Besides performing in such exhibitions they perform at huge number of other events, fairs, festivals, and weddings. The popular dance performances by them are Kalbeliya, Ghoomar, Chari, Bhavai and Teratali Dance.
Look at her bead jewelry! She was engrossed and lost to the beat of the music. Her dance troupe consist mostly her family members. In the slides below you can see a child from her family and the drummer.
So Beautiful . These faces are real identity of Rajasthan culture !!
So beautiful. Loved the post.
She is so beautiful… Decked up right for the occasion.
What a beauty! What a beauty! I am stunned looking at her too! How graceful and soulful her dance poses are! Someone said it right, beauty reflects from within!
I am craving for her jewelry, it’s fantastic!
How skilfully photographed! Awesome!!!
