A for Apple Trees of Kufri Himachal Pradesh
A for Apple… that was my first step into English language! But till last week had you asked me to identify an apple tree from group of different kinds of trees I would have failed miserably. Not any more.
Kufri trip took me back to those childhood days when I had pestered my mother to show me an apple tree. She was my google those days, but then we were in Trivandrum; the southern most tip of India, where the climate is hot and all one can see are the tall coconut trees. The urge to see one got submerged in mind under the deluge of information that flowed in to my mind after taking that single first step.
Life does throw you surprises and present to you situations where your inner desires get fulfilled! I realised this when our bloggers group zeroed in on a hill station as destination for the trip. Even during the plan’s formative stages I didn’t dream of seeing an apple tree, then one thing led to other and just before the trip I happened to see the pictures of Apple Trees of Kufri Himachal Pradesh blossoms which Hitchy shared.
And then I was sure!
Thursday challenge: Trees
I miss eating such organic apples. Most grocery stores only have the "GM" kind.

oh I missed this, apple trees look so pretty
I first saw an apple tree (with full grown apples) in California and now in Kufri, those with tiny apples growing on its branches, along with you. 🙂
We had a good time, didn't we?
I'm glad things worked out so you could find an apple tree. Your first photo is gorgeous with that brilliant blue sky. We had several apple trees on the farm where I grew up. I would like to be able to go back and see if they are still there.
I had been to Shimla Nov last year. went to Kufri but never thought of giving a close view to apple tree. Thank you for sharing n teaching a lesson on traveling.
Lovely tiny apples. I would love to see them in person.
I'm happy that you got to see your apple tree 🙂
And here an Apple tree is something so common, I am sure you have a lot of trees I never heard of !
Apple a day keeps doc away .
A dream come true. And a lovely one at that.
Nice to read your small anecdotes!
Dream come true! Lovely!
Nice picture of an apple tree. Regards Albert y Mara from Holland with their Apple products (iPad 2 and iPad 4 and MacBook Pro) 😉
Common where I grew up. The world is so big!

Its a very rare sight for me too to find a apple tree. Thanks for sharing…
There's no change of ever finding an apple tree here in Singapore too, with our recently opened flower and trees conservatories , hopefully we can find some fruits trees from colder climate there soon.
What a lovely bright green, Indrani. Lolz at 'mother as Google' :-).
Nice. In Jammu and Kashmir, Laddakh, Himachal, we have seen so many varieties of apples and the trees laden with fruits are so alluring!
Beautiful shot. I used to have an apple tree.
Such vivid blue skies and the perfect backdrop for the APPLE tree!! Fun post for the day, Indrani!! Thanks for sharing!!
