Tulip from Brussels, Belgium

Wiki mentions the national flower of Belgium as Red Poppy. When I was in Belgium in the first and second week of April this year I didn’t get to see a single red poppy flower. The flowering season hadn’t set in then. In Brussels green had conquered the white but no spots of colors. Some tulips had managed to survive, here is one of them.

Brussels Main Square is usually covered with carpet of flowers every two years. This year the theme was based on designs from Africa. The flower carpet was on display from 15th Aug to 19th Aug. I saw it in news channels here and wished I was there in Brussels then! You can see more pictures here.
