The Nokia Apptasting IndiBlogger Meet, Bangalore

A fantabulous evening with blogger friends in Bangalore!

Blogging – what started as mere exchange of ideas and experiences in virtual world with virtual friends got a real face last Sunday 11th Nov. Blogger meets always excite me and this time it was no different. Shared a table with blogger friends right in front of the stage where the events were unfolding. Guess who the stars of the evening were…

Rajiv Makhni, a techie guy (Managing Editor, Technology, at NDTV. He also Anchors Gadget Guru, Cell Guru and is an Expert in mega TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati )

and

Vikas Khanna, a chef. (In 2011, People magazine named him in the list of “Sexiest Man Alive”. He is also referred to as “The Hottest Chef in the World”)

Together they made our evening memorable!

As the program started Rajiv got Vikas chant a couple of lines of prayer in the regional language. The whole audience was like “WOW” a Punjabi residing in New York so perfect with regional accent!. Rajiv kept taking digs at Vikas to which he responded in a very sporting manner. Rajiv mentioned Vikas’s ignorance about “applications” and how he being a chef mistook apps for appetizers. A series of events were lined up keeping us entertained. For one of the events Rajiv coaxed Vikas to walk like a model with a couple of (lucky) bloggers.

Nokia introduced few of its apps like: movie clip which makes vintage Charlie Chaplin style movies in a couple of minutes, and breathe analyzer which is a perfect after party app to check if you can drive back home safe. A dance event by bloggers set the hall in vibrant dancing mood; it was based on the latest craze, the song Gangnam Style.

300 bloggers approx,  and everybody wanted to share stage with the two celebrities. The lucky ones got their minutes of fame much to the heart burn of others (including me) in the audience. The whole event of three hours was followed by a sumptuous dinner. I thought all programs had ended and as I was walking out, to my surprise I saw both Rajiv Makhni and Vikas Khanna obliging each and every blogger there. They were posing for photographs for them, with them… such humble celebrities!!! Weren’t they hungry by then?

Thank you Nokia and Indiblogger for a fun filled evening!

  10. That is an amazing event…I would love to meet bloggers…it is so isolating blogging away all by myself on this island, there are no bloggers here and I don't know any close so my virtual blog friends are a life line to my blog. That is why your blog is so important to me Indrani.
