Stay at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, a Hotel Review

The one very best thing about JW Marriot Mumbai Sahar is, it is close to international airport there. Ask any tourist or travel fanatic or businessman, all will be of opinion that they don’t want last minute hassles during departure. That said, I am dwelling on some more enjoyable aspects that I experienced during my stay at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.

Checking In at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar

On 2nd August 2016, a group of Indian bloggers landed at the hotel. This was on invite from OPPO, a  Chinese electronics manufacturer,  to attend launch of OPPOF1s Selfie Expert cameraphone. The sight of lobby, its grandeur swept me off my feet! It is so stylish! I lost count of the different kinds of chandeliers there!  We got a cordial welcome at the reception. After the formalities they allotted each of us Concierge level guest rooms.

The room being on first floor I did not get grand views, the fitness center was bang opposite arousing guilt pangs of not exercising enough. I was there in Mumbai just for a couple of days and exercise was the last thing in mind. The immediate concern that kept igniting my travel lust was ‘what are the things to do in Mumbai?‘ After all I had to make the best use of my stay at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.

The room greeted me with well lit interiors, translucent curtains swaying gently… may be I imagined that because the room was air conditioned, a range of pillows and two apples. I didn’t bother to explore the room entertainment gadgets, there were plenty of them. The kitchen amenities too left untouched, who actually thinks of cooking in such luxurious ambiance I thought. Big thumbs up for both bathroom and business amenities! They have left no room for complaints!

Other Amenities

Nobody to show me around, so I went exploring on my own! For meetings and weddings they have separate elaborate arrangements. Since I was there for the launch I experienced their Business Center Meeting room. It had a neat seating arrangement for approx 150 guests. Press people with their huge zoom lens and camera stands positioned centrally.

The essentials were in place and in plenty. By essentials I mean FOOD. And thank God they had a dining area specially marked out for us; else I would have been thoroughly confused where to dine! Dining area options are: JW Café International, Romano’s, JW Lounge and JW Baking Company. The Buffet breakfast was however disappointing after the elaborate lunch and dinner spread. They provided very limited choice!

The urge to stroll out only got stronger after the calorie busting meals. A simple query like: what are the things to do in Mumbai was answered with scores of choices! Major confusion was whether to go shopping or sight seeing? After brainstorming we settled for sight seeing, what else do you expect travel bloggers to agree on! But here too confusion stalked us. We found it hard to choose between Mahakali Caves 5kms away, Powai Lake 7kms away, a simple drive through the city. More choices dropped in. Finally due to shortage of time we settled for drive through Bandra Worli sea link, View Haji Ali Dargah and the famous Juhu Beach!

Mumbai is a place that I must visit! You really had a nice opportunity and it seems like you had a nice time there. I hope you go their soon with your family.

  • We have Marriot Hotel here as well, but the Marriot Hotel in Mumbai Sahar seems to be way over the top and obviously better than the one we have here in our country. The bath tub took my heart away~

  • Wow, grand hotel, looks like luxury, especially confronted to hostels! 😉

  • It is a good hotel but because i live in Mumbai never considered a stay there but i think when i need some pampering that is where i will head

  • Wowww I love the chandeliers!! It’s really beautiful. That’s a nice way to enter a hotel. The room is really big and looks very luxurious.

  • cool, simple, awesome, nice, wonderful, relaxing, i can go on and on to give this place very good names, the pictures and sights seen here are just too good. a hotel like this can easily make one decide to live their house and turn this place to a new residence. Mumbai and its numerous beauties.

  • This is my kind of hotel. Love the chandeliers and that bath tub is everything. Wow, never knew they had fancy hotels like this in Mumbai. Bucketlisting a visit.

  • An airport location is handy is you have an early morning departure that is for sure. The Marriott looks lovely, especially that bathtub! I like staying in ‘name brand’ hotels when I travel and I find you get consistency and they have a reputation to upload. I always have good intentions of using the hotel gym but never seem to get around to it so I understand those guilt pains lol

  • WOW what a beautiful hotel! The bathroom looks so good! I will put this on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

  • I would love to go to Mumbai. This looks like the perfect place for a visit! Ree love30
