Portugal Sights

Day 6 – The morning was well spent doing the walking tours in Evora. The highlight of the day was visit to Bone Cathedral in Evora. From Evora we drove to Lisbon, where everything was going as per plan. During the walks my husband got pickpocketed; somebody flicked his wallet. There will be a more detailed post on this later.

Day – 7 We continued our tour of Lisbon. It is a beautiful city otherwise. We visited the resting place of Vasco da Gama.

Day – 8 We left for Sintra, The Pena Palace here is colorfully mesmerizing! The remaining half of the day was spent visiting smaller towns like Alcobaca, Batlaha and finally we halted at Tomar.

Day – 9 The morning of Tomar was spent in the monastery and cathedral there, a 11th century HUGE building. From Tomar we drove to Coimbra, which has the oldest university of Portugal. The library was mighty impressive with its huge collection of old books. At evening we were in Porto.

Day 10 – I saw one of the most beautiful cathedral of Portugal in the outskirts of Braga. We ended our Portugal trip at Guimaraes, which has a beautiful castle, it is the birthplace of Portugal nation. With this ended our tour of Portugal, we drove to Salamnca in Spain after this.
