While all were relaxing there was somebody keeping a watch. Several lifeguards sat alert for the safety of beach goers. ‘What a wonderful job they are having!’ I thought. Beach Watching – Sit and watch the beach whole time and do the noble deed of rescuing people if in trouble. I would love to do it; only I don’t know deep sea diving. I have deep admiration for what the lifeguards are doing. Such beach jobs enables one to stay and enjoy the beach the whole day. However along with that comes the responsibility of saving people from dragging waves.

We must remember they can’t watch everyone! “Even the best lifeguards can miss something while watching a crowded beach with over 200 swimmers. Never assume that the lifeguards will do their job perfectly.” — Noah, a Jersey Shore ocean lifeguard for more than 10 years. They are trained to notice people who are struggling. And can easily distinguish between playful splashing from panicked swimming.
