Faces of India – 229


This picture was taken during the recently held Independence Day celebrations. The two ladies are about to perform for a dance program, one of them is helping the other by adjusting the flowers on her head.

    Oh how beautiful these ladies are. I hope you stayed for the dance. I love a saree, and Grant's accountant in Tanzania is from India. He brought me a BEE-OO-TI-FUL saree from home when he returned from leave. I wore it to another Indian friend's 50th birthday – he owns a hotel in Shinyanga, Tanzania. I posted a photo of myself in a traditional African kaftan and one of me in the saree, on Face Book with the captions: Mama Africa or Mrs India. I had dozens of votes as Mrs India!
