What do you do when you have to wait for your snacks to be fried? This was taken at Averakai Mela (Bengaluru’s own flat beans fare). Averekai is a kind of green bean grown in several parts of Karnataka. The bean is used to make a variety of items like payasam, mudde, masala idli and vada. Each delicacy and snack item is made fresh at the event.

So while waiting for my snack to get brown and cooked I took the young cook’s pic. I asked him if he enjoyed doing what he was doing, all he replied was family does it so he too is doing it.
