I entered the restaurant La Uppa of Grand Mercure Hotel in Mysuru to find a group of these artists sitting around a table in their costumes. I was immobile for a second wondering if I was at the right place. There were 8 of them each looking fiercer than the other. Look at his crown, it is bigger than his face, I wondered how heavy it would be! Was it easy to carry on head and dance too! My eyes scanned them in disbelief and then I saw a couple of them smiling at the fear written on my face. That eased me a bit.

That guy (he seemed to be the leader of the group) gave me his visiting card maintaining that same cold gaze. So they belonged to a dance troupe. They assembled there to perform for Chief Minister when he would arrive at the hotel for inauguration. No smiles were exchanged, when I sought his permission for a picture he put on an even sterner look!
