Chowmahalla Palace, Hyderabad

Just a couple of pictures for this week’s Thursday challenge: CLEANING (Broom, Mop, Bucket, Vacuum Cleaner, Street Cleaner…). The interiors, this was taken in Chowmahalla Palace, Hyderabad.

We were quite late that day when we visited the palace.
My picture properties show: Shooting Date/Time 12/29/2010 12:41:56 PM.
Imagine the mopping of this huge place manually by just two people. It was noon and the work didn’t even look half complete. Their reflections, their style of working caught my fascination, hence this shot. Wonder what they might have been thinking doing the continuous swish-swash motion for hours in a stretch!

That's a beautiful palace and I love the shot of the people working. That would be a lot of work to keep clean.

  9. The picture raised a question in my mind. How do they clean the vast malls, airports and big buildings?I hope not by such conventional mopping with buckets of water. There must be vacuum cleaners with mopping facility.Nice picture it is.
