Cathedral of San Pietro, Mantua

Walking through the streets of Mantua I saw various impressive buildings, mostly churches and castles. One striking facade was that of Cathedral of St Pietro; huge and grand in appearance. Admiring these monuments don’t require any guide, I just kept strolling at a pace dictated by my heart which was so much at peace. The angelic forms in the pillars, arches were soothing, the details very interesting.

It is the burial church of Conossa and Gonzaga family. A twelfth century creation, it was touched up and re-touched up in sixteenth and eighteenth century.
