Brindavan Chandra Math, Guptipara, West Bengal

Sharing with you some more pictures of Guptipara temples. While the facades are covered with beautiful terracotta panels, the interiors have beautiful frescoes. Most of the patterns and and paintings have faded.

Idol of Krishna worshiped here.

The ceiling decorated with paintings, the space isn’t much… just two to three feet in distance. The ceiling is arched in this part and walls right upto ceiling are covered with scenes from Lord Krishna’s life strory. It is sad to see them fading away. I wish the West Bengal tourism department took up the work of restoration and renovation seriously and quickly.

Idols inside Krishna Chandraji’s temple.

This is the oldest of the four temples, at left side, interior part of the fortified complex. It is the Chaitanya Deva temple, there were a few statues displayed here.
