Before we part…

I saw these three ladies immersed in serious discussion. This was near Warangal Fort, Warangal. They seemed to back from their daily work place and would soon part to their respective homes. I watched them with lot of interest, what could they be discussing???

I tried to overhear too, but I am not familiar with their native language, Telegu, so it was a futile attempt. Could they be discussing state politics? or their daily wages? or their family matters? It had to be definitely something important I concluded. One of them was totally unmindful of the huge load on her head.

What is your opinion?

  • Never mind that you didn't understand them, they, at least, did pose for you, and it was fantastic.

  • Hopefully it wasn't a discussion about those darn tourists with cameras always snapping their picture. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'm sure it wasn't.. and the resulting image is just amazing.

  • Thanks Bob.

Hilary, that could be true too. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • If only we could all carry our loads as lightly as she does!

  • just shows you that no matter where….women are WOMEN everywhere!!!! Probably were gossiping ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Terrific capture as always, Indrani! I, too, think it's great that they posed for you! And it would be interesting to know what the conversation was about! That's a really big load to carry on ones head just to carry on a casual conversation! You do get wonderful and interesting shots! Hope your week is going well!

  • I wonder! I am glad you got these photos. The colors and patterns on their clothes are really wonderful. Did they notice you?

  • or the latest Bollywood news?:p
    i love the bright-printed sarees.

  • I love the colorful fabrics they're wearing. They look beautiful, whatever they're discussing. I cannot believe the lady balancing the huge bundle!

  • It had to be how hot Shah Rukh Khan is in the latest magazine cover. I'd join them quickly ๐Ÿ™‚

  • This is a great shot. I would like to be in on their conversation too.

  • Nice shot. My guess is as good as yours. May be daily wages.

  • The more we are different, the more we are the same. Good capture of am everyday event: women bonding.

  • They could be talking about what to cook for the night, tomorrow's weather, last night's episode of a TV serial, about anyone of a hundred other aam aadmi's concerns, but not about the future of Telengana, which, I guess, remains a politician's concern.

  • Can't be state politics….. they are more concerned about their daily bread, so it could be daily wages….
    or maye be
"hey listen after lunch we will not go to the same place to cut grass……not much growth there now a days"
    or may be….
"hey you know what, while I was cutting the grass, I had an eirie feeling that I was being watched by a tiger"

  • it's amazing to see the lady with such a huge load on her head carrying on a comfortable conversation with them.

  • The conversation would be about their meager wages and what they would do with that. And sadly the ladies never realize how small it is or how big it could be. Once i met a man in a hospital in Chennai who worked for 30 rupees per day. So the wages of females will be invariably less than that.

  • I remember being absorbed in talks with my friends in spite of the bitter cold outside. My husband said to us, โ€œWhy donโ€™t you talk within the house over some tea?โ€

In Japan, all the Japanese speak Japanese. There seem to be many languages in India.

Iโ€™ve found your icon in my followerโ€™s list. Thank you. I, too, will keep up with you.

  • hmm…bitching about husbands????!!
    or daughter in laws???

  • Your capture could make one wonder endlessly….

  • I'm sure they must be discussing their husbands!

  • Very nice image of the three ladies, amazing the colors of their clothes.

  • enjoyed the pic, and the suggestions even more ๐Ÿ™‚ there are so many times i see people and wonder what they might be doing, but never take a pic.. now maybe i should too!

  • Fantastic photo. It gives a bird's eye view into how some of the ladies live. That's a huge load on the one lady's head.
