ASUS ZenFone Zoom, a Smartphone Camera Review

ASUS ZenFone Zoom is the latest smartphone in the market which is camera centric. It was released in Dec 2015. Last week I was given a ZenFone Zoom on returnable basis for reviewing it. The focus of review is more on its camera features. I have my Digital Single-lens Reflex Camera (DSLR) for photography when I travel so the first striking advantage I felt on holding this ZenFone Zoom is that it is so LIGHT. At 185gms I wondered what quality images the lens would capture!

Nature Photography with ZenFone Zoom

The phone is stylish, sleek and rigid; it felt good to hold in hand. My first click was of sunset from my apartment complex. The image turned out good, no haziness, no blur and natural colors captured.

I was eager to experiment more smartphone photography. I decided to do some random street photography. The wall of a nearby complex had some amazing paintings done on them. One click there.

The sun was just setting and we were crossing the Old madras Road, Bangalore. I wanted to focus just on the glowing sun. Apprehensive whether I would miss the moment or not I clicked continuously three to four times. Back at home I was pleased with the captures.

The Laser Auto Focus feature and the 4 Stops Optical Image Stabilization features of the camera didn’t fail me. Proves to be a phone with best camera.

Inspired I decided to make one trip early morning the next day to capture sunrise shots. Well, I live in no scenic location. I live in a concrete jungle. So I decided to frame the hanging bridge of K.R.Puram, Bangalore. But my bad luck being really bad I got cloudy skies the next morning. Nevertheless took pictures of the hanging bridge and against a grey setting.

These pics aren’t from Europe. They are from our own Goplan Signature Mall on Old Madras Road, Bangalore. The facade is grand, almost in European style and the architectural details too good. I zoomed in with ASUS ZenFone Zoom and got incredible captures.

More smartphone photography at home of all things colorful and beautiful. The macro shot of flowers from my balcony garden did have fine details. ASUS ZenFone Zoom can easily be featured in top 10 camera phones. Guess what is the blue striped object? Answer will be updated in this post next week in the comments, do check back.
