Airtel Launches 4G Services

A different experience awaits all Airtel customers! Bharti Airtel has launched 4G high speed data services in 296 towns and cities of India and THAT is the BIG story! To all 3G users – How many times have you struggled to get a decent HD screening? How many of you have lost precious time downloading huge MB data? (I am myself a victim of these.) Well, this now will be a thing of past. ‘4G services’ promises fastest surfing experience anywhere anytime! That reminds me, a friend of mine was recently complaining how it took a long time for the google map to download in a new city where he had been for work. With his 3G, it took a while for him to chalk out the shortest route to airport. To him I need to say: Not any more my friend 4G is here to serve! Downloading your favorite application from the Playstore will just take seconds.

The highlights of 4G services from Bharti Airtel:

  • It is 5 times faster than 3G.
  •  The service will be available to customers through 4G-enabled mobile phones, internet dongles and Wi-Fi routers.
  • Airtel will offer 4G data plans at 3G prices and users who swap their 3G sim cards with 4G ones will get benefits such as unlimited access to Airtel’s music service for six months and a certain number of free movies on its new online movies platform.
  • 4G data packs will start at Rs.25.
  • Customers can also opt from amongst a host of 4G smart bytes starting at Rs.100.

For the past few months they have been garnering information from their beta launches in cities like Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. From these feedbacks they have now launched India’s first commercial 4G network that will make high speed mobile broadband a reality. They have entered into alliances with Samsung and Flipkart for 4G services. So, in future one can expect Samsung to deliver mobiles with Airtel 4G simcards. With the kind of promised speed I am afraid more people are going to be addicted to their mobiles!
