Admiring Lotus Blooms in Thailand

Lotus flowers dominate the landscape in Thailand. I saw this delicate beauty growing vigorously in ponds and swamps, even in the road side ditches. I struggle to grow these in my little terracotta pool and in the road sides of Thailand I saw them flourishing.

Many times I felt like wading through the slush and plucking them. All stages of the flower are alluring and the sight so soothing, I came away framing them. The seeds are known to be dormant for as long as 200 years. This is one of the reasons why lotus is a symbol of immortality and resurrection.
